Big House White

An excellent white table wine that has found it's way into my heart via Sue in SC.

From the Big House website:

Big House White is a crisp yet round wine with a floral nose, accentuated by honeysuckle, litchi, and a bit of a tropical fruit cocktail. A virtual potpourri of fruits including cantaloupe, peach, apricot, and litchi. The finish is fairly long with a nice apricot character.

HISTORY
Harvest in the cool of the morning and then it’s off to the big house for those little buggers to get squished before the sun comes up. The juice undergoes a cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to maximize the fruit characteristics and retain both its trademark acidity and length in the finish.

FOOD PAIRINGS
Grilled Lemon Chicken, Oven Roasted Tilapia, Fresh Basil Tortellini Salad, Sesame Chicken, Parmesan Roasted Asparagus.Visit the Mess Hall (Main Floor) for recipes.

RAVES
“This crisp, fruity, minerally white blends Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Malvasia Bianca, Orange Muscat and Muscat Canelli.”(News & Record—Greensboro, NC, June 4, 2008) 83 Points.
“Recommended.” (Wine Spectator, March 30, 2008) “Good Value. Very charming…enticing with notes of jasmine and almond blossom, pear, melon and quince and limestone flourish. Snappy acid jazzes the whole project but allows for a pleasingly silky texture.” (KoeppelonWine.com, August 23, 2007)
“Recommended. This crisp wine has floral notes and an appealing fruitness.” (Food & Wine, April 1, 2008)

Loungey

I am bigtime into loungewear lately. I found these awesome pants on clearance at American Eagle Outfitters to strut my stuff in around the house. $14.95

Block 'em out

I found modestly priced decorative window film for my bathroom window. Best investment! I can let all the light into the bathroom and it blocks out anybody who may want to peer in! Some of the decorations are really cheesey, but I got the glass block version and it looks great. I am curious to see what the frosted/etched version looks like. 26 1/2 in x 5 ft Glass Block F5 for $16.00

LOVE THIS

A little eco-love! I fully support the reusable water bottle, especially when there are places like, 'plastic island.' I bought a sigg bottle about a year ago and love it. I've owned reusable plastic bottles before, but they always got old and gunkie. I keep returning to my sigg. Definitely a great purchase. I recently spotted the a new design with a Keith Harring print on it. The smaller bottle is 21.99 (just under our price point- hopefully there are free shipping coupons out there!)

Scrabble Me

One of my favorite all time board games is scrabble. Just the other day my mom pulled out her board from (what seems like) 1972 and we had a round of word wars. Lately, I have been challenged by my sister through Lexulous.com and is very fun but nothing can replace the look and feel of those real tiles. Check it: The letter Necklace $20

Robot Tote

I am a big fan of the tote bag and what a better way to show the love than this very cute robot tote. The best part is the pixelated heart for all you geeks out there! $20
